Vadodara, formerly known as Baroda, is the administrative headquarters of Vadodara District, located on the banks of the Vishwamitri river, about 141 kilometers from the state capital Gandhinagar.

Famously known as a Sanskari Nagari of India, the city, is known for the Lakshmi Vilas Palace, the residence of Baroda State’s Maratha royal family, and the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, Kirti Mandir, Sursagar Lake, Sardar Patel Planetarium, Vadodara Museum & Picture Gallery, Sayaji Baug, and Laxmi Vilas Palace are some of the most prominent tourist attractions in the City.
