Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Nainital, commonly called the ‘Lake District of India’, is located around the beautiful lake Naini. Situated in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state, it is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India. The city is set in two parts, Tallital and Mallital, with the lake dividing them.

Tallital is the southern edge of the lake, while Mallital has the northern upper reaches. Naini Lake, Mall road market, Tibetan market, Naina Devi temple, Nainital Zoo, Snow Viewpoint are the major attractions in the city. Naina Peak is one of the most liked treks that provide a precise trekking experience with achieving a height of 2611 meters.

The Mall Road, Tibetan market, or Bhoti Market is the most popular marketplace especially known for its scarfs, women’s clothing, and shawls. The city allows many shopping specialties, from branded goods to locally produced products. Nainital is very famous for its excellent quality of handmade products such as candles, ornamental pieces, and Kumauni woolens.

As a popular tourist spot, Nainital offers a flattering range of cuisines from North Indian, Chinese, Continental, Tibetan, and Uttarakhand local cuisine. There are dozens of cafes on the walkway near Naini Lake.
