Famously known as The Queen of the Hills, Mussoorie is a beautiful hill station in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range, in the Dehradun District, located about 35 kilometers from the state capital of Dehradun.
At an average altitude of about 6,578 feet, it is enclosed by the Himalayan snow ranges to the northeast, and the Doon Valley and Shiwalik range to the south.
Often related to as Mansoori by most Indians, the name is frequently associated with a derivation of Mansoor, a shrub that is indigenous to the area.
George Everest’s House, Cloud’s End, Mall Road, Bhatta Falls, Gun Hill, Company Garden or Municipal Garden, Kempty Falls, Camel’s Back Road, and Lal Tibba are some of the most prominent attractions in Mussoorie.
