The Scotland of India, Kodagu (also known by its former name Coorg) is one of the top hill station destinations in India. The largest producer of Coffee in India, it is an administrative district in Karnataka. Known for its breathtaking scenery and lush greenery, It is at an altitude of 1525 meters on the Western Ghats.

Coorg has three wildlife sanctuaries, including the Brahmagiri, Pushpagiri, and Talacauvery Sanctuaries, and one national park called Nagarhole National Park.

Some of the most popular tourist attractions in Coorg include Abbey Falls, Dubare Elephant Camp, Golden Temple or Namdroling Monastery, Tadinadamol Peak, Iruppu Falls, Raja’s Seat, Talacauvery, and Raja’s Seat.

Talacauvery is the place where the river Kaveri originates. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Brahma on the banks of the river. Elephant rides at Dubare Elephant Camp, there are other interesting things to do in Madikeri.
