Cooch Behar Tourism

The headquarters of the Cooch Behar district, Cooch Behar, or Koch Bihar is a city and a municipality in the Indian state of West Bengal.

The only planned city in the North Bengal region with remnants of royal heritage, it is one of the most famous towns in West Bengal.

Cooch Behar Palace & Madan Mohan Temple is one of the main tourist destinations of West Bengal, has been declared a heritage city. The city was the seat of the princely state of Koch Bihar during the British Raj and ruled by the Koch dynasty of Assam.

The city hosts Ras Mela, one of the largest and oldest fair of West Bengal, every year during the Ras Purnima, organized by the Municipality in the Ras Mela ground near ABN Seal College.

Cooch Behar Palace or Rajbari, Madan Mohan Temple, and Sagar Dighi are some of the most prominent places to visit in the city.
