Situated 22 kilometers from Lahore and 28 kilometers from Amritsar, Wagah Border, or Wagah-Attari Border is the geographical boundary separating India and Pakistan. Every single day, a special retreat ceremony is held at the border and hundreds of civilians and tourists visit the Border to witness it.
The Wagah Border Ceremony, popularly known as Beating Retreat Ceremony, starts with a parade by the soldiers from both sides. The Border Ceremony was started in 1959 and since July 2011, BSF women guards are also becoming a part of the event.
